Cylinder liner test system - worldwide in  use

Every  combustion engine manufacturer does know them: the problems occurring due to surface defects on cylinder liners. It does  not matter if it concerns cracks or pores, the finding of such  defects seems to be rather difficult in the hard-to-get-to  inner diameter. Especially for this application, the rotating system eddyscanF has been developed which is used very successfully world-wide by well-known automobile manufacturers.

A  rotating eddy current crack detection probe scans the  cylinder liner for surface defects without touching it. A high resolution, short cycle times as well as best  suitability for automation are advantages of this test  system.

The test system is calibrated to a nominal crack so that the complete testing in  production always remains reproducible. The sorting decision resp. the finding of defects is effected by the test  instrument, it does not depend on the human eye.

The same company has developed the self-centering guide for the test system eddyscanC which is well suitable for the testing of motor blocks. Geometrical tolerances in the millimetre range  are balanced.

Please contact the manufacturer.
